By Light’s Cyber division is shaping the cybersecurity workforce of the future.
The current cybersecurity workforce gap demands a shift in the paradigm to how we identify, recruit, educate, and train cybersecurity professionals. Through the development of our Cyber Aptitude Typology Indicator (CATI) assessment and course, By Light is paving the way for individuals to find their natural fit for a work role and career in cyber.
Leveraging assessment results that map to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Framework and National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Framework, CATI evaluates each individual’s unique personality characteristics, intrinsic learning preferences, and skillsets to provide actionable metrics that express the cyber work role and career path best suited for the individual.
The CATI assessment was created with two objectives in mind:
Leveraging centuries old research from Carl Jung and the mother-daughter duo of Myers-Briggs, By Light has applied aptitude theories and personality assessments to globally recognized frameworks in the NIST Framework and NICE Cybersecurity Framework to develop the CATI assessment. CATI evaluates each individual’s unique personality characteristics, intrinsic learning preferences, and skillsets to provide actionable metrics that determine their most compatible work role and career path in cyber.
The six module Cyber Aptitude Typology Indicator (CATI) course is built around the CATI assessment. Each module covers a different topic, from cybersecurity history to career exploration.
Individuals who complete this course will gain an objective understanding of “best fit” cybersecurity work roles based on their unique assessment results and learn about the relevant concepts, certifications, and job requirements appropriate to pursue work in the field of cybersecurity.
The course includes the CATI assessment, and all participants will receive their individual results sheet.
