Cyber Defense Network Support Technician

Metova is seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals for Cyber Defense Network Support Technician positions at Scott AFB (3 positions) and Lackland AFB (3 positions).

Role and Responsibilities

The following specifications are required to successfully deliver the required service and support company objectives. The individual is encouraged to exceed these minimum responsibilities to demonstrate its technical, operational, and administrative expertise in support of company’s organizational and departmental objectives.

Objectives are as follows to support the Cyberspace Vulnerability Assessment/Hunter (CVA/H) Weapon System (WS) Maintenance Support Services (MSS) contract :

  • The qualified Network Support Technicians will serve as Cyber Defense Network Support Technicians and will provide hardware and software maintenance support for the Cyberspace Vulnerability Assessment/Hunter (CVA/H) and the Information Operations – Fly-away Kits (IOP FAKs) for the Air Force’s Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs).
  • Additionally, the Network Support Technicians will also perform hardware and software administrator duties, and provide maintenance support to CPTs and IOP FAKs located at multiple stateside locations.
  • The Network Support Technicians will respond to first-line customer requests such as user account issues, configuration issues, regular/scheduled maintenance and other touch maintenance functions.
  • The Network Support Technicians will use software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose problems affecting network and mission systems performance.
  • The environments typically include a mixture of platforms to include Windows and LINUX based operating systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Cybersecurity:  Experience in vulnerability management and scanning, host based security systems, intrusion detection/protection systems, DNS, wireless technologies, and boundary protection solutions.
  • Network Infrastructure:  Experience in network infrastructure including routers, switches, network management solutions, network access solutions, firewalls, virtualization solutions, and virtual private network solutions.
  • Systems Sustainment:  Experience in Microsoft and/or Unix-like operating systems, host based security systems, DNS, DHCP, group policy, vulnerability management, patch management, antivirus, antivirus solutions, and virtualization solutions.

Education and Certifications

  • (Mandatory): TOP SECRET security clearance is required, applicants must already have a fully adjudicated active clearance.
  • (Mandatory): 3+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, network infrastructure or systems architecture
  • (Mandatory): DoD 8570 IAT L2 or L3

Objectives are as follows to support the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) contract:

The qualified Developer and Code Review candidate will use knowledge of secure software architectures along with the Government provided application security vulnerability scanning tools to support the security testing process, specifically the HP Fortify’s Software Security Assurance tool.  The candidate will analyze/minimize risk to information and services by examining source code, and by highlighting the most serious issues and prioritizing source code fix actions to minimize the overall risk of vulnerabilities.  The candidate will test web applications using HP WebInspect’s hacking emulation capabilities to find any existing vulnerabilities and will create a prioritized list of fix actions, recommendations and future considerations for web application development based on thorough research of current industry standards.  The candidate will analyze Linux (Solaris) vulnerability scan reports and work with the system owner to resolve identified deficiencies.  The candidate will develop scripts/tools/application for collecting, normalizing, correlating and reporting for system security and vulnerability reports.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with HP Fortify and WebInspect or other code review tools
- Experience with scripting/coding for automation of repetitive tasks
- Experience with web applications (JAVA and .Net) and databases (SQL and/or Oracle)
- Experience with Linux Operating systems (Solaris)

Education and Certifications

 Senior Cyber Modeling & Simulation Security Analyst

Metova is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual for a Senior Cyber Defense Modeling & Simulation Security Analyst position at O’Fallon, IL.

Role and Responsibilities

The following specifications are required to successfully deliver the required service and support company objectives. The individual is encouraged to exceed these minimum responsibilities to demonstrate its technical, operational, and administrative expertise in support of company’s organizational and departmental objectives.

Work primarily with the Metova CyberCENTS staff and their customers ensuring CENTS® platforms and SLAM-R© appliance products are designed and developed so system accreditation is received at the customer’s location. The end goal, when each CENTS® range leaves the production facility, is the delivery of risk management framework (RMF) documentation and test reports (artifacts) the customer uses as part of their Authority to Operate submission through the RMF process. The Senior Cyber M&S Security Analyst will test/scan each system verifying the implementation of required security controls and review the CENTS engineering documentation produced for each cyber range implementation (e.g. Navy, Air Force, Air Guard etc.) and then prepare risk assessment documentation in accordance with established RMF criteria. Throughout the development of each customer’s cyber range, work with action officers and end users assisting them with the development of the PO&AMs. Consistently assess updates to Metova’s solutions identifying potential vulnerabilities in the design and implementation ensuring system engineers design and deploy secure cyber ranges, simulators, and persistent training environment. Work with Metova developers and engineers to identify corrective actions for identified vulnerabilities.

Preferred Skills

– Eight years of professional experience with the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) (Mandatory)
– Four years of professional experience in analyzing and assessing security controls for information systems (Mandatory)
– Four years of professional experience creating, assessing and producing DIACAP/RMF documentation and artifacts (Mandatory)
– Two years of professional experience conducting IT risk assessments for DoD systems (Mandatory)

NCOTS Cyber Range Systems Engineer

Metova is seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals for NCOTS Cyber Range Systems Engineer positions at Norfolk, Virginia (on-site at NIOC-Norfolk).

Role and Responsibilities

The following specifications are required to successfully deliver the required service and support company objectives. The individual is encouraged to exceed these minimum responsibilities to demonstrate its technical, operational, and administrative expertise in support of company’s organizational and departmental objectives.

Performs as a member of an engineering team on-site at the Navy Information Operations Command – Norfolk (NIOC-N) charged with the integration, system management and configuration, operation, testing, and scheduling of the Navy Cyber Operations Training Simulators (NCOTS).  Will maintain and update simulator designs, integrate hardware and software, determine baseline configurations for training classess and cyber exercises, and for maintaining the system’s Authority to Operate. Configures and tests existing/legacy images of virtualized enclaves for integration into NCOTS. Maintains and updates NCOTS design documents, configuration guidance, and test plans.

For future evolutions of Metova proprietary simulators and associated software, perform system analysis, system and network design, system integration, product testing, capacity planning, and documentation for the integration of the new software and/or hardware in NCOTS. Install, configure, and test routing and switching devices, network security appliances and software, virtual machines, network operating systems and network services for new target platforms.  Perform development and functional testing for new software versions and document test plans and test cases for that testing.
